December 8, 2016 – We attended a concert by Japanese Taiko Master “Mikita Hase” from Shizuoka, Japan as guests of co-performers and good friends Toko-ton at the Queensland Multicultural Centre in Kangaroo Point, Brisbane.
I’ve always enjoyed taiko for its booming emotive sound and the theatrics of the performer(s), but more importantly the experience of the sound resonating throughout the body, leading to a whole body experience. To see a master of the performance was a true privilege!

Our friends Chie and Steve from Toko-ton joined Hase-san on stage for three songs.
Thank you again Steve and Chie and of course Hase-san!
I used the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mk-II and an M.Zuiko Digital ED 75mm F1.8 for its silent shutter (to avoid destroying the ambience and annoying other patrons), and the amazing image stabilisation built in to the OM-D E-M5 Mk-II and other in the OM-D series
